Confidence is one of the main keys here. Let the judges know that your confident your might win. But don't be like, "I am the best!" "I am going to win!" The judges do NOT want that at all!
Speech Confidence: While giving your speech you want to present yourself likeyou are the RQ. Stand like you mean something. Like you own it. SPeak proud and strong. Have some faith and you will do GREAT! Speak loud and clear for ALL to hear!
Questions Time: his is the hardest part of all for some of us. We all know we never want to Answer incorrectly. While answering these questions, have a bunch of confidence smile, look at the judges in the eye's while answering! Let them know you know. Not you think. For example: Judges will ask: Wy should we choose you to be RQ?? Incorrect: I think I should be Chosen because..... Correct Way: I feel / I Belive I should be chosen because.....! Example #2: Judges will ask: Name the parts of a horses hoof?? Incorrect: I think they are..... Correct way: They are..... And again, speak loud!
Horsemanship: Always keep a smile on your face. You are there to have fun! If your horse get's mad, don't moan, whine, sigh, or look sad. Just go with it, keep smiling, and act like that was supposed to happen!
Poser: Someone who sais they are someone they aren't.
When it comes to the RQ Contests just be you. People should love you for you, and definatley not for who you try to be. If your shy then be shy. But if you are shy maybe this isn't the best thing to go for. There is alot of public speaking to do and a ton of performing. LOL!
Some Posers are different though. Most girls will be all Nice and Miss Perfect and Respectful in front of the judges. But at home they probably aren't all nice or respectful. When becoming or running for the Queen, Make sure you remember what your job is! And that is to represent the sport of Rodeo.
So ladies, from this post, you should know that the judges want you for you! So be colorful, outgoing, friendly, or just plain weird! But not to weird!

First thing's first. Always remember what your are getting your self into. Running for any RQ Title cost alot of money, it takes time, and alot of hard work! Fewf! Just remember set your goal and never get up. Some poeple run 10 times, 20, times, 50 times before they ever when. Some poeple might even when the first time. Never let yourself down. Just becauseit might take one person 1 year to when and you 5 years, doesn't mean no one likes you. God has planned out everything, he knows the right time for you to when. Trust me, the right County will love you and choose you. :) :)
